VERY quick portrait. Been practicing the human head a lot, tried to see what I could produce out of my head after having done a bajillion studies. I also wanted to experiment more with custom brushes. Thoughts?

I can definitely see the effort with the facial anatomy. I think you are quite adept at getting realistic skin tones, complete with natural hue variations.

I really like how you rendered the ear; it looks like done with traditional paint. Did you use a Photoshop default brush for that, or is everything a custom brush here?

I suppose the only thing that I'm not crazy about is the way you did the highlight in the hair. I don't really get the feel of seperate strands there, but that's pretty much my only real concern.

thanks, I pretty much used custom brushes completely on this one. Nothing crazy though, most of it was done with a triangular shaped brush as opposed to the circle one. That and a brush that created multiple lines with each stroke. There's a bunch of little things that I'm noticing about it now, that I'd change. The hair highlight and the bottom of the nose being top among them.
