I saw Lord of the Rings and got bitten by the fantasy bug. I spent about 3 full days at around 8 or 9 hours per day working on it, and once again I didn't do any sort of pre-planning like I should have. I really need to deal with these horrible, horrible habits of mine.
my friend once again another fantastic piece i love it and whats wrong sometimes with the lack of pre-planning that is what make art the way it is because you never know what your gonna get
haha, thanks man. When I do thumbnails, I tend to come up with compositions that are more dynamic and exciting. I also work out graphic issues with the values and overall it tends to lead to a better image (the 1 time I actually used thumbs.) Over the last few days, I'm really learning the value of thumbnails, and I've become addicted to doing them in my sketchbook.
see i as an artist are just so different than you as an artist . i've never in my life done thumbnails it just seems to work when i start a picture i don't plan the picture out on paper but only in y head like i have a mental picture of the picture im gonna be doing. i've also been told that i do the porcess of a picture a bit werid . as i mean i pencil the piece then i colour and ink it .
god artist are such an odd bunch we are

I was told all through school to do thumbnails, and I did them, but my mind wasn't in the right place. Something just clicked recently to where I'm really appreciating the need to do them, it's been great!
